krypt8
It’s a distributed virtual computer that anyone can securely run programs on and trust their results. Applications on Ethereum require zero infrastructure and are immune to downtime. The code that runs an Ethereum application is verifiable. Users can know that the program they are interacting with does exactly what it claims to do. Ethereum includes a digital currency called ether. Ether has a lot in common with the famous digital currency Bitcoin. Both are a purely digital store of value and means of exchange that cannot be counterfeited. Both are implemented so that no one can manipulate the currency supply. Both can be transferred around the world, like email, and in a very final way, like cash. Both have value today because users expect them to have value tomorrow, and because they can do things traditional money can’t. So, Ethereum is both a digital currency and a programming language. But it is the combination of these ingredients that make it special. https://www.ethereum.org/
bigxy
Ethereum has made significant improvements in its price in last one month. I did tried to mine it but remain unsuccessful as the pool guys sent me 4.92xxx ether on my ethereum address but it didn't showed up there and they never replied to the issue. So i left mining this coin.. :-/
pepy
Based on this site, https://www.ethnews.com/etherlive. The price of Ethereum is around $300 per 1 ETH. It indicated a good rising movement but don't expect it like BTC, ETH is having lots of good concept but i prefer NEO with its bigger transactions limit per second which is very good enough. myregister
Because i think that there are a lot of people out there who think that ethereum is a payment gateway not the currency like BTC. Even actually i must admit that both are cryptocurrency like. Ethereum has better feature overall, but it seems they are too late into the party and i think $1000 is the highest they can be. pepy
One thing which make ethereum different than popular bitcoin is because of the system its use. Ethereum use proof of stake, which means that you just need to open your wallet and just connect to the internet with that open wallet and you can mine, simple and also energy efficient. myregister
It still consume energy more than what you think, ethereum also divided between two. The modern one and the classic one which still use PoW if i don't make any mistake. Ether price still around $300- $400 per ether. Overall this currency has good future as the price keep rising and with its good feature it may replace bitcoin.
pepy
The classic one but the newest one right now is using PoS, the more ether you have then it would be good for you because the more chance you will get bigger ETH. Also it is common option to let your wallet open for 24 hours and it doesn't need any kind of mining which requires more power than PoS. In the mean time I am accumulating ETH and DeepOnion. Deep Onion interests me because it operates on the TOR network and is much more secure than ETH. SO 2018, more ETH and Deep Onion for me. myregister
@sidejob: One thing that i love about ethereum is actually their smart contract. Smart contracts often emulate the logic of regular contractual clauses. With this, there are a lot of contractual clauses where we can make it partially or fully self-executing, self-enforcing, which in the end both reduce a number of transaction costs associated with contracting
