Operation Phoenix’s infrastructure currently has thousands of GPUs and Computer processors.
 
Following the unprecedented crisis that we are now facing, Operation Phoenix has decided to use its facilities to help science find a cure for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) by supporting the Folding@Home project. Led by Professor Vijay Pande, Ph.D. and his laboratory, the project is part of the Departments of Chemistry and Structural Biology at Stanford University and the Stanford University Medicine Center.
 
Proteins play an important role in all living organisms. Viruses also have proteins, which allow them to enter our cells and attack our immune system. The way to fight the Coronavirus is to decrypt its proteins and find the weaknesses that will enable vaccines or drugs to neutralize the virus completely. The Folding@Home software was designed by scientists from Stanford and has the ability to calculate all the possible configurations of the Coronavirus proteins (among others) and give scientists faster treatment paths than laboratory tests can. Recently, the software made it possible to discover a treatment path to treat Ebola!
 
Since March 10, 2020, we have been working to be able to dedicate our infrastructure to perform calculations that support researchers in the fight against COVID-19.
